I had just three weeks to create café and lounge seating areas prior to the centre opening, which was a tight turnaround, but I’m pleased to say I hit the deadline!

It’s a fun and sociable space so I commissioned deckchairs in the centre’s corporate colours of terracotta and green, and sourced tables, tub chairs, benches and cushions to match to create three separate seating zones.

The design was softened with the inclusion of several large potted plants, which brought the outside in and provided another link to the centre’s brand identity.

As it’s a commercial property, all of the installations had to adhere to CRIB 5 regulation standards – and it was also important to be mindful that some of the customers might be a bit sweaty after playing so hard-wearing fabric choices were essential!
